TABLE OF CONTENTS

Intro

This option will create new metafields for all resources that match the configured filters (if any). If no filters were applied, metafields will be created for all entities of the given resource type. If a metafield with a matching namespace and key already exists, its type and value will be updated with the ones you specified while configuring the bulk editor.

In case you are not familiar with the basics of our bulk editor, you should check out this step-by-step tutorial before you proceed.

Configuring a bulk action

Select the "Create or update metafield" option in the drop-down menu:

Next, you can specify the details for a metafield to be created/updated. Press the Select metafield button (1) to reveal the available options (2). Select the one that fits your specific task the most:

Specifying the metafield data

Regardless of the way you sourced the metafield data, 4 required attributes have to be populated to create a metafield. Each of these attributes has a corresponding UI element:

1) Type selector;

2) Namespace input;

3) Key input;

4) Value input.

Replacing existing metafields

If you want the types and values of existing metafields with the matching namespace/key combination to be updated by your bulk action, please enable the "Replace existing metafield values" option:

Otherwise, such metafields won't be affected by the update.

Running multiple bulk edits

You can configure up to 3 concurrent bulk edits. If you want to create or update more metafields, press the Add new action button and repeat the process:
